Bishop’s Annual Appeal Kicks Off in Schuylkill County

Bishop of Allentown Alfred Schlert thanks BAA donors and supporters for engaging in the 2018 appeal, “Called to Serve.” “The least important word in the title is ‘bishop’ because the appeal is about people: the people we serve, the people who do the daily work of providing services and the generous people who make it all possible through their generosity to the appeal,” he said.

The appeal kicked off  April 11 at St. Ambrose, Schuylkill Haven.

Suzanne and Frank Fox, co-chairpersons of Schuylkill County BAA and parishioners of Most Blessed Trinity, Tremont, kick off the appeal. “We are humbled to serve as the chairs of the 2018 Bishop’s Annual Appeal for the Schuylkill County Deanery. As we reflect on this responsibility, it brings to mind how truly blessed we are, and reinforces more than ever the need for us all to respond to Christ’s call to feed the hungry, give drink to those who thirst, welcome those who are strangers, clothe the naked, and visit those who are ill, or in prison, as we’re not here for ourselves,” said Frank.
